What is well equipment

The term well equipment refers to the various components used to ensure mechanical support of the wellbore, to introduce well barriers and to enhance well flow performance. This database aims to give simple descriptions of typical well equipment independent of specific manufacture designs. Equipment details and specific designs have to be provided from the equipment manufactures.

Categories

This database includes the following component assemblies.

• X-mas tree
• Wellhead
• Casing strings
• Casing cement
• Cement plug
• Completion string

These assemblies make the 'permanent' parts of the well. The locations are illustrated in the figure below.
