Textbooks
What is a textbook
A textbook is a document describing the basics of a specific topic.
Types
The following textbooks are available:

A barrier is a defence system to reduce critical effects of unwanted events. Other nicknames are safeguards, safety function and protective systems. Barriers are related to the current situation and consist of one or more barrier elements. The entire production barrier system is described. Well barriers are described as a subgroup.

Reliability is the ability of a component or system to perform its required functions, at the specified levels of performance, without failure, in the specified environment and operational loads, for the time required. Reliable products will have less faults and thus reduced operational costs and improved the safety.
Maintenance is actions to retain a component in or restore a component to a state where it can perform a required function. Maintenance will increase safety and reliability of components and thus reduce operational cost if the maintenance activities are properly planned and performed.
Functional failures are non-fulfilment of wanted component functions and includes failure modes and interface destruction. Functional failures are often found in the interface between modules designed by different suppliers.
Failure cause categories are overall reasons for having failure modes and includes fundamentally wrong design, manufacturing failures, operational conditions failure, human errors during operation and interface failures.
Component design is the geometric layout of components. Geometry details have a major influence on the component reliability, but also efficiency during machining, assembling and maintenance
Profit influencing factors in a production company are production efficiency, losses and costs. These factors will influence on each other and must be optimized together to achieve maximum profit for the production company.
LCP is the abbreviation for life cycle profit. The main objective of performing a LCP analysis is to achieve maximum profit for an investment in the long run and should be executed early in the project planning phase to e.g. select vendors with reliable tools.
Torque controlled preloading is a method for preloading threaded connections by a use of a torque wrench. The torque wrench measures the torque, and gives a feedback when the set torque is reached. Correct preload is critical to achieve reliable connections.
The completion string will be exposed to stresses during the installation and during other well scenarios that may occur natural or accidental during the operational lifetime of the well. The tubing stress analysis will analyse all relevant scenarios and related stresses in the entire completion string.

The textbooks can be used as support for guidelines, but can also be used as stand-alone references for everyday use.
